Nausheen Shah is a New York based fashion designer, stylist, fashion + travel journalist and creative consultant. She is known for her discerning eye for detail and artistic approach to creating looks that capture attention and become sources of industry inspiration.
Nausheen studied ballet, jazz and contemporary dance growing up. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree at University of Wisconsin - Madison studying Pre-medicine with a major in Spanish. She later went on to serve as a Paralegal for 4 years in a Medical Malpractice Law Firm based in Chicago. Soon thereafter, Nausheen decided to pursue her original career choice in fashion + arts. She studied fashion design at Polimoda Institute in Florence, Italy with a tailoring specialization. She completed her degree at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York in 2006. Nausheen moved on to design for Zac Posen before becoming his Collection Director in 2007-2008.
Eventually Nausheen pivoted her career into fashion styling and luxury fashion/travel journalism. In 2011, Nausheen was featured on the cover the New York Post Real Estate section for her interior design in the West Village. Subsequently, she received a request to write fashion articles given her knowledge of fashion tailoring + history. This led her to become Olivia Palermo's Fashion Editor and international contributor to Marie Claire writing reviews for all shows from New York to Paris. In addition to writing fashion/travel articles for New York Post and Travel + Leisure, Nausheen went on to launch the first luxury travel section for Bergdorf Goodman's magazine and created style guides. She continues to grow her editorial and styling roles working with publications such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, L’Officiel, Travel + Leisure and Departures digital and print outlets.
During the same time, Nausheen’s portfolio also naturally grew to include fashion editorial, show and celebrity styling, print advertising and creative consulting. Nausheen offers insight into her ability to understand the use of fabric, colors, textures and styles to carry out her clients’ fashion stories and messages while also maintaining the integrity of the individual brand, image and identity. Nausheen serves as one of the top stylists on the Armarium StyleBrigade having bought and styled their Spring/Summer 2019 collection. In addition she launched her own jewelry collaboration with Monica Sordo for Spring/Summer 2019 at Net-a-porter.
Now with over a decade of experience, Nausheen's well-rounded, fashion experience has also drawn in an international client base including Farfetch, Le Bon Marché, Versace, Valentino, Ferragamo, Bally, Etro and many more. She was also featured in Vogue for her recent Golden Birthday celebration.
Born and raised in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Nausheen is of Persian/Pakistani descent.
